Katie is a certified Level V Romana Pilates Instructor and a fully certified STOTT PILATES® instructor. She was first introduced to Pilates during her ballet training, and it played an integral role in sustaining her 17-year professional ballet career with San Francisco Ballet, Miami City Ballet, and The Suzanne Farrell Ballet in Washington, D.C.
Katie began teaching Pilates in London in 2017, initially focusing on the contemporary STOTT PILATES® method. However, after several years, she found herself missing the discipline, precision, and depth of the Classical Method she had trained in during her ballet career. Seeking to reconnect with the original Pilates system, she enrolled in the Romana's Pilates teacher training program at Kinetic Pilates in North London. There, she trained under Rebecca Convey (Instructor Trainer Level III) and Marjorie Oron (Senior Master Instructor Trainer Level X) from The Pilates Studio in The Hague, Netherlands. Since completing the program, Katie continues to refine her skills, regularly training and traveling worldwide to learn from senior Romana's Pilates instructors who inspire her ongoing growth as a teacher.
Katie enjoys working with a diverse range of clients, from aspiring dancers to the aging population, and firmly believes in the power of movement to heal. Despite significant hip injuries from her ballet career, Pilates has allowed her to stay active. Since retiring from ballet, she has taken up running, competing in everything from 5K's to marathons. She also enjoys competing with and working with her Black Labrador, Shelby, who occasionally makes cameo appearances at the studio.
